Connecting your AI assistant
Use Claude or ChatGPT to look at your numbers and adjust your catalogue by talking.
Nantli can be connected to your AI assistant. From there you ask how the business is doing in your own words, and ask for price or promotion changes without opening the app.
Connecting takes about two minutes and you do it once per assistant. You don't need to know anything technical: you copy an address, paste it, and sign in with your usual email and password.
Before you start
You need three things:
- To be an admin at the property.
- The MCP Server product switched on for the property, under Settings → Plan and products.
- A Claude or ChatGPT account. In ChatGPT, custom connectors need a paid plan.
Step 1 — Copy the address
Go to Settings → AI. At the top of the page, under Connect your assistant, is the server address with a Copy button.
Click it. That's everything you need to copy, and it's the same address for all your properties — the assistant sees the ones that are already yours.
Step 2 — Paste it into your assistant
In Claude
Open Claude in the browser (claude.ai) or the desktop app, and go to Settings.
Select Connectors.
Select Add custom connector and paste the address you copied.
Select Connect. A Nantli screen opens.
In ChatGPT
Open ChatGPT and go to Settings.
Select Connectors.
Select Create and paste the address you copied as the MCP server.
Save, then select Connect. A Nantli screen opens.
Step 3 — Sign in and authorise
The screen that opens is Nantli's, and it asks for your email and password — the same ones you use for the app.
Enter them and select Authorise. You're returned to your assistant, connected.
Step 4 — Try it
Ask something simple to confirm it took:
How are today's sales compared to the same weekday last week?
The first time it will ask which property you mean. After that it remembers within that conversation.
What it can do
Look things up — sales, which products earn most, which promotions worked, inventory, anomalies in the period.
Change things — prices, products, categories, modifiers, items, recipes, stock movements, discounts and promotions.
Run the kitchen — suppliers, purchase orders (raise them, receive what arrived, close the ones that came up short), recipe production, batch waste and transfers between storage locations.
Two rules that protect you
It works with your permissions. The assistant only sees and changes what you can. Connecting it opens nothing new.
Changes are preview by default. When you ask it to change something, it first shows you what would happen. Nothing changes until you approve explicitly in the conversation.
Where the record lives
Everything the assistant looked at or changed stays in Settings → AI, with the before, the after and the reason. You can also get an email digest, daily or weekly.
If something doesn't work
"I can't find Connectors" or there's no option to add one. In ChatGPT, custom connectors need a paid plan. In Claude, check you're in your account settings and not a project's.
"Wrong email or password". It's your Nantli account, not your Claude or Google one. If you can't remember it, reset it from the app's sign-in screen.
The assistant says the property isn't on the MCP Server product. Switch it on under Settings → Plan and products. An admin does this.
The assistant sees no properties. You signed in with a different account from the one with access. Remove the connector and reconnect with the right email.
It stopped answering after a few weeks. The connection expired. Delete it in your assistant and do Step 2 again.
