Taking an order

Ring up a check from a table or as a quick order, and send it to the kitchen.

Needs Point of sale

An order is a check: a table's lines, with their modifiers, until it's paid.

Opening an order

From Floor there are two ways in:

  • Tap a table to open its check. If the table already has open checks, it shows you which, and you can go into one or start another.
  • Quick order for anything without a table: takeout, bar, counter.

Orders arriving through digital channels show up on the same floor, marked Online, QR or Kiosk, grouped under "Pickup and counter".

Adding lines

  1. Pick a category and tap products to add them. Each tap adds one.

  2. If the product has modifiers, the options screen opens. It shows how many you have to pick — "choose 1", "choose 1–3", "up to 2" — and Add turns on once you've met it.

  3. Select Send to kitchen when the ticket is ready.

Lines are marked Sent or To send, so you can keep adding to a table without re-firing what already went out. Only the new lines reach the kitchen.

Assigning a guest

Select Guest to link the order to someone in your directory. Search by name or phone, or create them right there with Create and assign.

It's worth doing when the guest is earning points, has a booking deposit to apply, or wants the receipt emailed.

Reading the check

The breakdown on the right calculates itself:

LineWhat it is
SubtotalThe sum of the lines.
PromoAutomatic discounts from active promotions.
DiscountA discount you applied by hand.
ServiceThe service charge, if you've set one up.
TaxIf your prices already include it, it's shown but not added again.
TotalWhat gets charged.
BalanceWhat's left, once there's been a partial payment.
