The terminal

The screen where your team takes orders and charges, and how people sign in.

Needs Point of sale

The terminal is the service screen: tables, tickets, payments. It lives apart from the rest of Nantli — full screen, no sidebar — because whoever is using it is on their feet with their hands full.

Open it from Point of sale → Open terminal, or go straight to /terminal on whichever device stays out on the floor.

Before you start

You need at least one product on the menu and one person set up in Staff with a PIN. Tables are optional: with none configured, everything is rung up as a quick order.

How your team signs in

Nobody uses an email and password at the terminal. Each person signs in with a 4- to 6-digit PIN.

  1. At the terminal, enter your PIN and select Sign in.

  2. Work as usual. Every order and every payment is recorded under your name.

  3. When you're done, select Sign out. The terminal asks for a PIN again for the next person.

The session expires on its own after a stretch of inactivity and shows "Your session expired. Sign in again with your PIN." That's deliberate — the terminal tends to sit powered on at a counter.

The three screens

The terminal has three views, along the top bar:

  • Floor — tables and open checks. This is the home screen.
  • Terminal — the order you're working on.
  • Kitchen — the ticket screen, if you have the Kitchen module.

Who can do what

Permissions go by role, not by person: Server, Cashier, Kitchen and Manager. The role decides whether someone can take orders, charge, apply discounts, void, or manage orders.

Set them in Point of sale → Staff; they apply across the whole terminal.
