Options and modifiers
Groups like "Doneness", "Extras" or "Hold the…" and the limits on each.
Modifiers are the questions the terminal asks when a dish is added: how would you like it? any extras? anything to leave out?
They're organised into groups, and each group has a minimum and a maximum number of options that can be picked.
Groups live in a library: build one once and use it on as many dishes as you like. Put the price of avocado up and it goes up on every dish that offers it — no walking the whole menu.
Creating a group
Go to Menu → Modifiers and select New group.
Name it — "Doneness", "Extras", "Hold the…" — and set the Min and Max number of options that can be chosen.
Add its options one by one with any extra charge.
Putting it on a dish
Open the product and go to Options and modifiers.
Under Use an existing group, pick the group and select Add.
You can also start a group from the product itself — whatever you make there lands in the library, ready to reuse.
Reading the limits
| Min / Max | What happens at the terminal |
|---|---|
| 1 / 1 | Required, exactly one. Steak doneness. |
| 0 / 3 | Optional, up to three. Extras. |
| 2 / 2 | Required, exactly two. Two sides. |
| 0 / 1 | Optional, one. Milk choice. |
The terminal shows the rule — "choose 1", "choose 1–3", "up to 2" — and won't let the product be added until the minimum is met. The minimum can't be higher than the maximum.
