Shifts and cash counts
Open the drawer with a float, close it by counting, and read the cash-out.
A shift is a cash-out: it opens by counting the float and closes by counting what's left in the drawer. Between those two moments, Nantli adds up everything that was charged and tells you whether the drawer balances.
Shifts open and close from the terminal. This screen is where you read the cash-outs afterwards.
Opening a shift
At the terminal, select Open shift.
Count the opening cash in the drawer and enter it.
Select Done. The shift is open under your name.
Closing a shift
Select Close shift.
Count the drawer and enter it under Cash counted.
Compare: the terminal shows Expected in drawer against Declared, and tells you whether you're Over, Short, or the drawer balances.
Add a note if something needs explaining, and confirm.
Reading a cash-out
Every closed shift keeps who opened and closed it, payments by method, the order total, how many were cancelled, and the cash count:
| Line | What it is |
|---|---|
| Opening float | What was in the drawer at open. |
| Cash collected (+tips) | Cash charged during the shift, tips included. |
| Cash refunds | What left the drawer as refunds. |
| Expected | What should be in the drawer. |
| Declared | What you counted at close. |
